Animals and their habitats
Animals live in different places around the world. Every natural habitat gives animals the food and shelter they need. In the warm rainforest, the jaguar uses its strong legs to hunt other animals, while the colorful toucan eats delicious fruit from high trees. Their bodies are made for this wet, green home.
In the hot desert, the camel can travel for days without water. It eats tough plants and dry grass. Its special body stores fat to give it energy in the dry heat. Far away in the deep ocean, the smart dolphin swims fast to catch fish. It has smooth skin that helps it move easily through the blue water.
Finally, in the cold Arctic, the large polar bear lives on the thick ice. It has warm white fur to protect it from freezing winds. The polar bear likes to hunt seals for food. Each animal has an amazing body that helps it survive in its home.
