Change or Reset Password
How to change your password when logged in, how to regain access when you forgot it, and what to do if your account gets locked.
Updated on
Change while logged in
- Open Settings in the menu.
- Fill in New Password and Confirm New Password. Use at least 8 characters.
- Provide your Current Password — it's required to confirm the change.
- Click Save Changes.
Leaving the password fields blank is normal when you only want to change your name or language: nothing happens to the password.
Anyone who signed in with Google and never had a password sets the first one without providing their current password.
Forgot password
- On the login screen, click Forgot password?.
- Type your email and click Send instructions.
- Open the email and follow the reset link.
- Enter the New password, confirm it, and click Reset password.
The link is valid for a limited time. If it expires, just request another one on the same screen.
If your account gets locked
After several wrong attempts in a row, the account is temporarily locked. It's protection against someone trying to guess your password. Use Forgot password? to reset and regain access.
Tip: the signup field still shows the hint "Minimum 6 characters", but the current rule is 8 characters. If the password is rejected on creation, that's why.
Tip: if you didn't receive the recovery email, check your spam folder and confirm you typed the same address as your account. Your account email can't be changed in settings — in that case, open a ticket in Account or access via support.
