Most tools cost a fixed amount per generation. Two vary: the audio one, by text size, and the audio and video one, by media duration.

The two that vary
Create Audio from Text or Dialogue — 1 credit per 50 characters, rounding up. A 500-character text costs 10 credits; the 5,000-character limit costs 100.
Audio & Video Question Creator — per minute of selected excerpt, with a minimum of 1 minute:
- audio: 5 credits per minute;
- video (includes YouTube and Vimeo links): 15 credits per minute.
Minutes are rounded up, and duration is measured from the media itself.
How to spend less
Tip: trim the media excerpt. This is by far the biggest saving: two minutes instead of ten turns 150 credits into 30.
Tip: if what matters is what you hear, upload the audio file instead of the video — 5 credits per minute instead of 15.
Tip: one generated text feeds multiple blocks. Generate the text (10 credits), copy and paste it in ABCD questions (10) and discursive (10). Three activities for 30 credits.
Tip: before Regenerating, try Edit Result. Fixing one option by hand is free; regenerating costs the whole generation.
Note: the number of questions doesn't change the price. Asking for 3 or 10 ABCD questions costs the same 10 credits — so ask for what your lesson needs, not the cheapest.
