Correct and Release Results

Most of Nivo's tools correct themselves: multiple choice, fill in the gap, matching, pictures. What only you can grade are the open questions. You decide when the student sees the result, per exercise.

Choose when the student sees the result

In the Assign modal, the Students see results field has three options:

• After each block — the student sees right or wrong block by block, immediately. It's the default and works for practice and homework.
• After completing all — the result appears only when they finish the entire activity. Good for practice tests.
• After teacher review — nothing appears until you release it. Use when there are open questions worth a grade.

Grade

1. In the builder, click Student Results.
2. Choose a student from the list (the Status column shows "Submitted", "Awaiting review", "In progress", or "Not started").
3. Click View.

If the exercise is set to After teacher review, the Teacher Review panel appears, with, for each block:

• Block Score — accepts decimals, up to the maximum points for that block.
• Teacher Feedback per question — a comment for each response.
• General Comment (optional) — a message at the end.

Click Save Review. The student still doesn't see anything.

Release

Turn on the Student Feedback switch. From then on they see your grade and comments. It's a toggle: turning it off hides them again.

Two locks exist on purpose:

• If the student hasn't submitted yet, Nivo warns "Awaiting student submission to release feedback."
• If a grade is missing from a discursive question that was answered, it asks "Set grades on discursive questions before releasing."

Tip: the review panel only appears when the exercise is set to "After teacher review". If you opened the results and didn't find where to grade, go back to Assign and change the policy.

When you finish the whole class, use Mark as Completed to remove the exercise from your pending list.
